RE: Afghanistan. You can't really expect the U.S. to abide by international law and decorum, can you? When have they ever? Look at how many times the U.N. has voted to condemn the U.S. sanctions on Cuba. To absolutely no avail.

Those slimeball Mujahedin and proto-Talibanites played footsies with the devil (i.e. the CIA) in the early 1980s to get the Soviets out so they could stone women for adultery and jail men for unkoranic beards. The U.S., for supporting these psychos, got its comeuppance in the form of the World Trade Center bombing and the embassy bombings and a vast network of skilled and dedicated urban guerrillas (or terrorists) they helped train and arm. The Afghan psychos got their comeuppance in the form of 40-60 Tomahawk missiles.
