Paul, what you say is true. Greenspan's principal focus heretofore has been on inflation, but with looming liquidity problems at money center banks and the health of the banking industry in general he has changed his focus. I think the overnight rates were a key issue here. With high short term rates the banks couldn't make a profit. I haven't looked at it, but I'll bet that as a group the banking industry moved more after today's rate cut than any other group.

I bet Lee has a lot more to say about this issue. I suggest you ask her.

I don't time the market -- I stay pretty close to 100% invested all of the time. But I'll go out on a limb and say that I think that Dell will run up in anticipation of excellent earnings.
