Polititians don't run issue campaign because they don't work in 30 second commercials - which is all they can afford to buy. This is why we need MORE, MUCH MORE money in politics, not less. They need money to educate the great dull mass of people who can't tell you how many Senators they have or name 1 out of 3 branches of government. The schools aren't doing it. The mainstream media has given up and now mainly hawks "news you can use" - [10 great places to get your car washed]. There are great issues to be decided. We need strong advocates - yes even partisans - on all sides, contending for the national mind and innovative ways to do it. That takes dollars.
