I'll agree that at the time the analysts had no way of knowing what the settlement was but they "knew" that there was to be a net gain after the settlement. Consistent with your characterization of the analysts, the easy way out is to start with a small gain (including the settlement) and "adjust" based upon....how many feet a lettuce leaf blows in the wind. I understand your point, it's certainly reasonable, but I was really probing whether anyone confirmed with any of the analysts that they were not including the settlement amount. If they weren't, I can't figure out how in the world they came up with the numbers that they did.

Best Regards,
Jim

Bottom line is will TDFX recover and blow out 1999 with something great or not. If you recall DELL when they were having problems and nobody wanted to buy it because perception was that they would not make it.

WE have couple of things in our favor.
1) Good R & D
2) Possible takeover target

Sun, would you buy on the dip if it occurs tomorrow. Buy on bad news, sell on good.

Opinions!

Also listen to the CC, and by the way my favorite quote are ones make on SI after or before the CC.

<<They have reduced the number of their competitors from 30 something to 3 (i.e ATI, SIII, and nVid)>>

I will give a couple share of ATI to anyone who can name me 15 without doing research, or maybe a beer like PAt was supposed to pay.

P.S. More analysts than last time as well as more intelligence than last time (though still a couple of dumb ones).

Right about this too

I was on the last analyst call and without exageration, those guys seemed like some of the dumbest and most absent minded people you could find. I think if you are an experienced analyst (or smart) you get to cover bigger and more predominant companies. And if you are
a dumb jack ass who can't tell a balance sheet from a lettuce leaf, then they assign you to companies like "..." until you learn or leave

Unfortunatly :-) , i have to agree with you 100%, and was wondering if i could keep the << And if you are a dumb jack ass who can't tell a balance sheet from a lettuce leaf, then they assign you to companies like "..." until you learn or leave >> for future use.

Sun, you hit it on the head, brother. These zeros don't know their ass from the side of the barn (for you, Aloha).
