>>OK.. I see in lieu of SparQ...but how can the 2gig Jaz be *comfortably* used for complete final (fail safe) backup of a 4-8 gig primary?<<

I don't think you could setup a complete final (fail safe) backup of a 4-8 gig primary? with the JAZ2.

You would not use a 4-8 gig primary partition. You could divide a primary 8 GB harddrive into four 2GB partitions. Or you could use two 4GB partitions and make use of compression.

You could design the software load/use such that the files needing daily backup are in one 2GB partition.

It is not a best solution but worthy of consideration.

The SparQ on a parallel port will be slow. Just looking at the alternatives. Perhaps just a tape drive would work? What is the speed comparison between tape and SparQ on a parallel port?

How many cloned images did you have on the #2 drive after you deleted one?

A total of four partitions to start, three were hidden. I deleted the active partition leaving three hidden partitions.
