<<<I was gone all day, so what does everyone attribute this run to? The Fed rate cut, shorts panicking, shorts adding more, momentum players, etc??

All that and IBD's page 4 story today, The New America page.

I'm still short PVN with a small position and ready to double up, hopefully in the low 80's where PVN has faltered several times before. Once the momentum crowd moves on, look out below.

In the meantime, the rally on the long side is giving us all lots of extra margin to hold onto long-term shorts.

xcr600...

>>PVN: Ok, who's still short?<<

I am way underwater on this one and still holding however I think it will continue to go up.

I learned a lesson on this one. Shorted in low 50's and got a call from my broker to cover when it hit 43. Yup, I still use a broker as I value the advice I get from him. Well, this time I did not take it and the rest is history. Lessons learned.
1. Anytime you can take a 15% gain in a day, take it!!! Don't be greedy.
2. Stick to what you know. PVN is one of the few times I have ever shorted based on recommendations from the thread. I usually stick to tech stocks since I do not know enough about finance stocks and find it very difficult to understand their financial reports.

All in all a good year on the short side and actually a good year on my core long term long stocks and Mutual funds.

A few more PVN's however and I will not be able to say that.

Good investing to all

Bob T.
