Cohu does not have conference calls. They are basically to small for that although they are usually very open in their comments to analysts and shareholders. I suspect they have fielded a lot of calls this afternoon.

The earnings release was extremely disappointing as Cohu was very short of the analyst estimates. The opposite was true last year where they were consistently way above analyst estimates. Part of Cohu's problem in this respect is that being so small that analyst estimates are probably not updated as often as larger companies. Irrespective, ASEC and ATRM are doing much worse so we probably shouldn't have been surprised although myself included we tend to be optimists. The good news in the release is the very significant increase in cash. As Cohu sales dropped off and inventories are reduced the cash balance has jumped significantly to about $70 million or about $7 per share. The should provide some support to the stock price and another $1-2 dollars per share of cash should materialize next quarter due to the drop off in sales.

Longer-term Cohu's major customers MU, INTC, and Motorola will hopefully add capacity at some point and Cohu will be positioned very well to take advantage of that. We will just have to wait for that to happen. Tomorrow will be an interesting trading day.

Good luck to all!
