Yes, for a normal company that actually turns a profit, yes. But since Amazon only produces losses, increasing the number of outstanding shares means their loss per share result will go down- about 5-8 percent it seems.

This may be the ace Bezos has up his sleeze. Just print more shares, and voilla your losses get smaller. (at least to the average newbie investor, who after all is the fodder for these elephants)

They dont have to fool the analysts- they are already involved in the scam and are helping to promote it. They just have to keep up appearances. Nobody will notice the tiny footnote explaining the losses went down because there are simply more shares out there.
