OT: Independence war is a cool game, but has a VERTICAL learning curve... don't give up :)

The game drops you into real-time combat the first minute, complete with cryptic, complex interface , but is quite good once you figure it out.

Also, good luck tommorow, everyone, I placed a buy order at $9 (just in case), but will buy in at $11 if that doesn't pan out :)

How does this write-off work?

If they write off the cost of the chip and then sell it as V2s in 4Q won't that give earnings a big boost?

Sounds like they turned the cost of their inventory into a one-time expense (masked by the one time income of the settlement).

Can someone who knows something about accounting explain how this will work? :)
