Contrary to popular belief, there are actually longs out there (actually, I should clarify that --- PREVIOUS LONGS)who made money on the long side of Zitel. I bought Zitel in early October 1996 at about $31 per share, and sold in January 1997 at about $45 per share, for nearly a triple! It would have been nice to sell in late December 1996 in the high $60's, or low $70's (I believe it went as high as $ 72 7/8 on 12/30 or 12/31), but I foolishly thought I could wait until early '97 and sell at these prices, and thereby postpone the capital gains tax. As they say, "you know the rest of the story". So while I've been out of this stock since early 97, it did indeed treat me well. That's it.
