>>>Thread, Why FEB suddenly cut rate? Can't even wait for next meeting which is only a month away! Some hidden problems in the US that is soon to be revealed? <<<

Yes, it was revealed that the U.S. economy is slowing down right now and lasting into next year atleast.. The cut rate is more like to soften the slow down (like a shock absorber) so that atleast the U.S. economy won't go to a full recession.. Expect more cuts in Fed rates in the next few qrts..

CNBC earlier today mentioned that the Fed had possibly in purposed leak the cut rate to Wall Street last week (the bounce started last thursday)..

another thought w/ Dow and Nasdaq downtrend, If we connect the high of Dow and Nasdaq down trendline since the high of July to present, I see that the resistance at Dow should be around 7900 and Nasdaq is around 1650 give or take 5% diff.. Interestingly, DOW had pass way 7900 and Nasd is near 1650..I don't think we will test Dow at 10000 and Nasd at 2000 again this year..Anyway, next week could be interesting.. anyone has any thought??

just me..
eL...

Chuckie hit deh fan and went splat! <USA Network tonight>

I think the rate cut had to do with too many big hedge funds unwinding positiosn causing liquidity crisis and only way to survive till end of nov was with another cut. There is no free market, who ever has the most money wins no matter what. Anyone who says otherwise is one of em old ones where in the good ole days things were beter.

But here is something from the one whos short the market, He has made some good calsl and its intresting that he does nto like manipulation considering he does it himself all the time with his comments on CNBC.
