The market fluctuates when each side has an equal chance to prosper.
Greenspan killed that notion today and it will stick in the minds
of shortsellers for a long time. A market will not prosper without
the shorts. We're going down and the economy will suffer a long time for his short termed logic of saving the "world".

Vitas, Re: "The market will fluctuate".

Being in cash, I'm unaffected. However, it's hard to view Mr. G getting his $18B IMF bailout and minutes later the fed decides to cut rates without believing they were somewhat too close in time. Today may change the short term course, but I do not believe it will alter the eventual outcome. Of course, it also obliterated some folks who, until this amazingly timed event, had been on the correct side of those market fluctuations, which brings me back to my favorite quote: The jungle awards the cunning a bounty of the foolish unaware.
