All it takes for Yahoo to "operate" in other countries is to register a web domain in that specific country. They don't have offices around the world.

Of course, CBS makes hundreds of millions of dollars per year in profit, and has done so for 50 years. Something Yahoo can only dream about.

Here we go again William....opposite sides..

From: "The Art Of Extraction: Beyond Traffic, "Walletizing" The User"

By Steve Harmon

"Imagine if you had 1 million people walk through the lobby of your restaurant, take a free dinner mint, toothpick, ask for a glass of water, and then leave. During that brief interlude your business model is to hold up as many ad flyers in front of their faces as they chew the mint, ponder the flavor, ignore the menu and flyers (and any other gesture you come up with), leave after the freebie is over."

FREEBIE is the keyword here....

This is exactly why this outfit's market cap is made of fluff! They have no product experience and certainly are not the most effective advertising method!

What's a more effective advertising media? TV or little annoying flyer ads stuck in our faces! Have you seen any research on this? How many beer ads do you see on the internet? Coke? Pepsi? These are some of the top marketing people in the world. They rarely use ad flyers. They're must be a reason.

Quote #2: "These aren't "media" companies as in ABC TV or CNN. These are media companies with the potential to place real commerce at every click. The future value of all of the above Web sites relies on the ability for them to "walletize" users."

Ok so Yahoo's not a media replacement, but it's not a commerce replacement either. What's their product? Books? Try Amazon.com. Just what do they offer besides a severely inflated stock price.

How about translating CBS programs to Mandarin Chinese??
