The market is also supported by the admission from Indonesian central bank governor Sjahril Sabirin that the central bank has sold dollars almost daily as part of its effort to strengthen the rupiah. Traders say that with the weak dollar, the rupiah could even manage a test of 8,000 per dollar -- quite a remarkable recovery from a few weeks ago when it languished around the 11,000 level.
