Personally, I want the Card to have a one-year time limit, rather than a 20- or 40-CD purchasing limit. I probably won't buy more than 10-15 CDs per year, no matter what they cost, so I'm set for probably 3 or 4 years with my 40-unit Card. I'd probably pay the $9.99 annually so I could get the $10.99 deal on my 10-15 CDs; but, as it stands, I don't have to do that.

I agree that they could perhaps price more aggressively on catalog items in order to generate more sales and increase the burn rate on Cards. But there's a lot of money to be made off the music, as well as the Cards, so I wouldn't want to see them throw in the towel and reduce margins on music sales to zero. I suspect there'll be some research as we go along to discover optimum pricing.
