Ken, wouldn't you agree that the drop in US interest rates was the cause of the drop in the value of the dollar relative to the yen? In other words, the decrease in the spread between rates prompted currency arbitrageurs to move cash back to Japan which resulted in the decrease in the dollar. And isn't this the reason that many central banks and others have been talking about concerted rate cuts among the G7?
