Everyone - I was not being critical of the fed move. I was merely wondering aloud -in light of the losses incurred by banks in connection with hedge fund lending- whether u.s. banks will be "gun-shy" about lending... I agree that we were born to consume in this country and that every true-blooded, patriotic american needs a "mall fix" every two weeks or so...Given the nature of our consumer based economic model I think we stand a better chance of avoiding a recession under our circumstances than Japan's chances of getting out of its recession. regards to all
