No, they are not fully converted. There is one Fab in Korea and they are converting the one in Austin. The Austin plant, from what I understand, has the DUV Stepper and CMP processes which make it possible to work with the die size we are talking about.

They are now shrinking as fast as Micron. Also they too got a shot in the bankroll from Intel earlier this year. Is Intel playing both ends to keep prices down?

I have been told by a ASM rep that Samsung has the steppers in
place in Austin and in 2 fab's in korea that make those fabs capable of the 400+ dpw wafer 64M SDRAM. I have also talked to an engineer from there FA group that has told me that in Austin and at
least there sister fab in korea that they are fully converted to a 64M
die that has 400+ dpw and they are yielding 96% in Austin and 92% in korea.

good point...however, that isnt the question. the question is, have enough been converted to drive cost down across the company?
