This depends on how you define the cake. From 3Dfx's point of view, the market is graphics cards that you can play most games with. Last year you could do this with most graphics cards, primarily because the games were not as power hungry. This year only 4 companies can claim they have cards that let you play 90% of the hip games. It does not mean that everyone else went bankrupt; it means the nature of the gaming market changed (in part due to 3Dfx) and 3Dfx was on the right side of the wave. The others can have all the other areas of the graphics market, but when it comes to gaming, the choices have narrowed.
