>>I'm really curious to see the next version coming out soon,
which I think is in Nov. I think the name of the
next model is the "Raven".<<

yeh, I am thinking about buying one of the new ones, I thought it was code named "Razor" for myself for Christmas. They continue to build functionality and software developers are increasingly creating new concepts for this device. Looks like a winner...

>>I've seen pictures of Palm computers, and the key boards
seem so small that I wonder how people's fingers can do
any serious typing.<<

Palm III is taking a different approach on this I think. I don't think it is viable for a handheld device to be a word processor and I think 3Com realizes this. It is more of a communication device, developing into a pager, phone, e-mail, keep notes on, lists, etc. More thought out in its development I think. Very exciting product and the fact they have the leading position should bode well for future releases. I don't see any competition that is close, yet, 3Com can't and won't sit idle with the position they do have, because they know technology can change rapidly.

Any thoughts on end of day close and Monday?

Matt

Joe: <<Can you type text files into the Palm? Also, by chance
are you a programmer type that gets into the OS?>>

YOu can type text into it by using Graffitti..which is very easy to learn and probably faster than writing with your hand. There is also a tiny on screen keyboard which you can use. The datebook, address book, and memo pads are awesome utilities. Its exactly what I needed to get more organized.

You can play chess and hundreds or other cool games. YOu can use it as a nice calculator or even write some computing programs. Its the best thing to kill time when you are in a plane or something.

BTW, I am not a programmer type. I dont know NOTHIN about Operating Systems.
