Net.B@nk has a much lower cost structure. CEO Grimes estimates that while traditional banks need about 20 employees per $100 million deposits NTBK will only need 4-5.

There aren't many pure ones yet. CompuBank is the only other pure Internet bank. TeleBank (TBFC) is a phone bank which has extended into Net banking.

Q3 earnings are due Monday. If they survive the LTCM debacle and the credit crunch in the past weeks they are reasonably stable. Not to forget - they are FDIC-insured.

NTBK will be a more flexible player than the big traditional banks which have a lot of overhead.
