I think the point that everyone seems to miss is thatErickson is defending it's marketshare. They want to sell as much GSM as possible.
They want Carrier's to think that CDMA2000 will never get of the ground, and that they will overlap the GSM's that they are instaling with WCDMA when it's ready. They are simply trying to convince the marketplace for as long as possible that they are in the driver's seat. This to maintain infastructure contract's. If everyone new Q was the leader, and future of the technology they would buildout IS95. Erickson will continue this strategy to the last second possible. We all have to put these action's into perspective, and realize that Erickson will eventially shift!
