Reg, if one were in the top tax category (I believe it is 55% for
Ontario), then this would represent 55/100 of 75% capital loss or
closer to $102,000 reduction in taxes or refund (if supported by
a previous capital gain.
By the way, who DID you sell your shares to ?

Hi reg: the tax loss selling won't help me much.
Most of my Innomat shares were in my RSPs.
But for future reference, could you explain the mechanics of this trade to me.
Do you have to use a full service broker?
Do you do the trade without going through the CDN somehow?
If anyone has any suggestions about how to minimize the loss here, (as Ross Perot says) I'm all ears.
