Maybe people do need to relax and not jump down your throat at any opportunity but this time you did use a racist term. There are terms that many people from different countries would find extremely offensive (you know the ones I'm sure) and just because you mean no harm does not change the fact. Just as when someone asked you not to use POS and you stopped, this may be one of those times as really it is much more serious.
This is all I'm going to say on the subject.
