Earl, I wouldn't say trivialize, I would say contextualize, i.e. in the pantheon of misdeeds committed by presidents past his transgressions rates as rather minor, IM very HO.

Unless of course, someone happens to be one of those Clinton-haters who consider him the antichrist. In which case the lying under oath is indicative not only one of many evil acts the President has allegedly committed--i.e. Bloodgate, treason, graft, flag-burning, atheism, (all accusations leveled against Slick on these boards)-- but the very downfall of our great and noble Western Civilization.

To wit (in the paraphrased words of cartoonist Tom Tomorrow):

Nixon: I subverted the constitution in order to promote my own political agenda and destroy my enemies.
Reagan: I subverted the constitution in order finance an illegal war in Central America.
Clinton: I let an intern play with my wee-wee. :-)
