As was indicated by several posters on the other TERN
thread, the long term survival of TERN hangs on its ability
to have S-CDMA selected for the Hi-Phy IEEE 802.14 standard,
and the second generation DOCSIS standard (DOCSIS 2.0).
This months's CED Magazine contains two articles on
this topic. First, an article comparing S-CDMA to DMT
and plain QAM for the upstream cable path:

If one reads between the lines, logic would dictate the
selection of DMT, not S-CDMA, for the Hi-Phy upstream
standard.
