I thought you'd never ask! Maybe the longest running western cowboy series on TV, is Gunsmoke. Matt Dillon the US Marshal, main character of the show, single handedly cleaned up Dodge City, Kansas; one of the roughest, and toughest cow towns of the old west. He demonstrated his ability to give a dirt bath to any and all bad guys every Sunday evening while we all imbibed in popcorn and sodas. He was endearingly referred to as Mathew by his mule ridin' buddy Festus. They cleaned up there act, or they left Dodge at Sunset, often times to enter their final resting place, Boot Hill. Every time you show up. I notice the name callers and such, get outta Dodge in a hurry.
