Jan: only the Nasdaq failed to break its downtrend line: spx. oex, indu all broke to the upside. The question is whether anything counts when the government manipulates the markets.

did you notice the ndx was down yesterday?
i think we are overbought..

more comments later today.. .

the seminar i will be doing is taking shape and has taken a lot of work.

for advanced TA people, i plan to have a TA-only get-together after the seminar.
should be fun looking at GET and advanced TA methods.

jan! you are 100% right. notice how accurate the ellipse is.

looking at sp500 only, you see that the ellipse is slighly above the close of friday. my way of using the ellipse:

declare the market on the "beginning of a move up" when we see a close above the ellipse.

so far, we haven't and we should expect a DOWNLEG.

no matter if this is a bear or bull market, take each swing. go long and then go short. as traders, we dont worry about the "classification" of the market. yes, the market direction is important, but not the "battle between those guessing if the market is in a bull and bears"

hope you understand my logic.

good eye jan..

IF we take out the ellipse just mentioned, we also have a MOB to worry about.

place a MOB using the 9/24/98 "J" pivot. notice the MOB at 1088 to 1100.

should you worry about this mob? yes.. imo MOB's are VERY useful and accurate in GET.

watch the transports for leading indicator of mkt.

i believe we are overbought and will see a downleg. HOWEVER, i will start buying when this downleg is over.

i think we have hit a short-term bottom for now.
