Dear Arnie: Responding to OT World Series-The one that got away:

Sunday, Oct. 18 4:32am ET
Big knock: Tino's slam
wins opener
Trailing 5-2, the Yankees discovered seventh
heaven in Game 1 of the World Series to pull
out a 9-6 victory. The Padres took out Kevin
Brown and Chuck Knoblauch greeted Donne
Wall with a three-run homer. Tino Martinez then
belted a grand slam off Mark Langston on a 3-2
pitch with two outs to cap the seven-run
seventh.

John

Off Base: Arnie interesting but........
I've never met a active sports writer or statatision who was playing in a WORLD SERIES, probable because they were too busy creating stories and collecting data. And that's all they are, stories and data, not scores. It's truly a great time to be a YANKEE FAN and I can see the dicussions on the veranda of the DOLITTLE INN now....... '98 Padres they coulda, they shoulda,..they mighta,...And I'll be singing along with Bernie, '98 YANKEE's they were da the best!!<VBG> jimmyo a beautiful day here in Connecticut!!
