I participated in the purchasing of puts today for a number of reasons. While i regard this purchase as somewhat high risk, given the fact that we have just had a record gain in the indexes over the past three days AMZN didn't "moon launch", and moved up on relatively light volume, seems to indicate there may not be much potential for a fast move to the upside next week. If it moves up with conviction, there should be enough time to bail with a small loss. On the other hand if this puppy starts to tank, with or without a decline in the indices, it should sell off fairly rapidly.
