La Nina here for a cold, cold winter; could that be what the mkt is saying about drilling stocks? As the speculative bubble bursts on tech and financial stocks eyes are becoming focused on value.

Value is already here; double bottom mkt may say the blue cold is not far behind.

Earthdog,

My uncle has been a petroleum engineer for nearly 30 years now. He used to work for American corporations overseas, primarily in Libya back in the early 70s. He worked for Western Gas Reserves until about six years ago. BTW, that is a good stock to SHORT. He said they've made some awful management decisions that will kill their bottom line over the next few years. Anyway, he believes that oil prices will start to increase steadily and that ESV is a solid long term bet. He had a 900% profit on an investment in three months a few years ago, so I trust his investing knowledge quite a bit. He buys a stock where he feels it's a good value and places stops when it starts to climb. If one of his stops is triggered, he waits for an up day or a low volume down day and then buys on the way down and repeats the whole process again.

Best of luck,
SmallChange
