One little rate drop and the DOW explodes.

Let's see.....if 1/4% drop equals 500 points, how much is a full percentage worth? Hmmmmm.
The market (over)reaction must warm Greenspan's lethargic heart. He must be thinking about the ease with which he can influence the markets, and all it takes is a nod.

And gold came up to it's barrier but wasn't allowed to climb over it. I marvel at the control. Isn't it strange how they can go from fighting inflation to admitting deflation in such a short time and take significant action so quickly. But, while the Dow might celebrate, unwanted side effects to a lower US dollar, increased trade deficit and foreign selling of US paper is yet to be felt.
