"Carl, the one who does the T/A for Decision Point, said the index was based on a basket of currencies"but he didn't know the breakdown"

You have to be one brave soul.

You know that MB will cast a spell on you for even the mention of VOODOO on his thread<VBG>

Thanks, Merritt. I was just looking at this week's Barrons, and saw a similar chart (I think) in the Market Week section, entitled "U.S. Dollar," and the legend on the chart is Federal Reserve Dollar Index. It's on page 106 of this week's Barrons, and in other issues is also on almost last page, captioned "Market Laboratory - Economic Indicators." But, I still don't know what it means. I guess I will surf the net and report back.

OK, I'm back, with minutes to spare (dang, I'm fast!) The U.S. dollar is compared against a weighted basket of ten other currencies. St. Louis Federal Reserve has it all the way back to 1971, FWIW
