Bullish or Not? Peggy. I have just finished reading Monday's issue of IBD. The charts are so interesting. Before the Fed Rate cut, the charts of the Dow, SP and Naz all looked like they were to be failed rallies. Then the rate cut and "pop", up they go. As I have previously stated, the Dow and SP have broken their downtrend lines. But they have yet to challenge their 200 DMA. They will no doubt do that this week. If those attempts fail, as Carpino and Favors suggest (extrapolating from the work of each) this will set up incredible despair in the markets.
