... And when the market's reaction is more related to various companys' ability to make the "whispered numbers", ignoring the informed consensus numbers, it used to be a sure sign of a "frothy market top". But in this strange day and age, who knows.

IMHO that EMC will do its usual professional job of making or exceeding its consensus numbers and will continue to have product development advances and announcements to keep us very, very interested and rewarded - both in hardware, software and integration of the two.

Just my opinion.

As to whisper number, I pay no attention to that. This whisper business is getting OUT OF HAND.

JDN, I couldn't agree more. If analysts have convictions about their beliefs, then that's what they should go w/ in the first place. The idea of publishing a number and then leaking a number two or three cents higher is disingenuous. Of course, that's even assuming that the so-called whisper numbers are actually coming from the analysts in the first place.
