Zeev or anyone,

I have noticed strange behavior on YHOO's intraday chart of the Nikkei. Every day, it seems to stop updating at 9:02 p.m. EST (was 10:02 EDT). Then, about ninety minutes later, it starts updating "real-time" again. There is normally a straight line from 9:00 to 10:30, but it is not flat. It either rises or falls gradually for ninety minutes. Often, the market falls sharply just before 9:00 only to flatten out for 90 minutes and then to continue the ups and downs.
Does the Japanese market close from noon to 1:30 each day? If so, that would explain the straight line we see. And I guess any delta from the noon "close" to the 1:30 "open" accounts for the slope in the line. I have seen many sharp drops just before 9:02, so maybe a lot of their investors like to close out their longs before lunch !!! : ' )

Can anyone confirm the above?

Thanks,

Curious HB
