Zeev,

I agree with much of what you say in principle but believe that your specifics do not reflect the reality as seen by the current licensees and experts like Dr. Lampert. I think if you spoke with these people they would have a different take on the near term potential. It is not my intent to argue their case for them.

I also agree that if one were only to look at the technical behavior of the stock that it would not reflect a company on the cusp of a new revolutionary technology. It was this lack of sponsorship in the market that marked my first forays onto these boards. I now thoroughly understand why many have not caught onto this company's near and long term potential. I still read posts that state many falsehoods as the one I just addressed to Barbara Payne (30 years no product). Also there is a lack of understanding of how the technology works and of the market acceptance. I agree that Gentex has had the only success (limited to rearview mirrors) with auto industry. I also know that Donnelly flipped when they saw the SPD moon roof prototype at the 1997 SPIE show. The Donnelly representative had Hankuk take the prototype outside where he sat under it and he RAVED and said how they had an order from Lincoln for 10,000 that they couldn't fill. The reason SPD could do what EC couldn't is in the very nature of the technologies. EC is chemically based and limited as to how far the researchers can go based on the technology itself. Gentex has been trying for years to come up with other applications and has made headway but has not reached the level of the SPD prototype. You really should contact Dr. Lampert and have this discussion. Last time my friend spoke with him Lampert told him that he was off to one of his consulting jobs and that he would be telling them about SPD. He really does believe that this is the wave of the future. He headed the lab at Berkeley that got all the US grants to work on EC and even with that background he is on the record stating that SPD is the better technology. You should also speak with Graeme Fairlie at Material Sciences. They are working in conjunction with REFR (something they are doing for the first time in their history) because they believe that SPD will be their biggest seller. Now these people have been contacted and their expertise far surpasses mine and I would assume yours (although I do not know your background in this). I find it odd that people are so quick to dismiss a technology they know little about and then do not want to speak with experts who have actually seen and worked with it and with its competitors.

As far as patents are concerned, you shouldn't even worry about any of the ones that were gotten before 1990s. Their expiration will have no effect on our protection of this technology. Check with a patent attorney as I have and they will tell you that REFR is solidly protected as long as the key patents are current and as long as each new breakthrough is patented this protection will run well into the 21st century. Regarding the specific concerns you had, I would hope you would check again with Joe Harary. I'm sure you have found him knowledgeable and open to clearing up any concerns or misconceptions you might have. He is also just concerned with getting the facts before people and letting them make up their own minds about the stock.

Thank you for your time and your thoughts. I appreciate the dialogue and have agreed with your assessment that bottom line REFR licensees need to deliver successful SPD products soon. On that we are in total agreement.
