The XAU yearly shows what a massive base has developed.That kind of support can easily launch a skyscraper move.

Searle; With the Dow now down only about 10%, but the Russell 2000 off 35%, I know where I would rather be. Non gold small caps usually perform best in the early phase of bull markets. Junior golds something else again.

I think Inger is saying the Dow might work its way up to 8700 near -term, but another big break is not far off. Important to remember that the 1973-74 bear did not end until the blue chips finally got smashed.
