G,
There are a lot of "what if" scenarios that could be ascribed
to this market. I prefer deal with "known" influences that will
contribute to market movements longer term. Short term the rate
cut is very good for traders/speculators looking to make a fast
buck, longer term, I view the rate cut as a shove on the rudder
to negotiate around an obstacle. The question is, was the shove
hard enough to avoid the obstacle entirely or will we still feel
the shudder of a glancing collision? Is the obstacle too big to
avoid or is the best we can hope to do is to minimize the damage of
a head on crash? Regardless, the US economy will continue to feel
the influences of foreign weakness, there is no way to avoid that.

Just my opinion,
BB
