George, I understand 1998 is Monopros 2nd year looking for diamonds on Victoria Island, like many other diamond companies in the NWT are they working on or near some lake.? We know Monopros found macro diamonds, I guess all from shallow drilling. I understand they were looking for diamonds in the NWT even before Diamet, is Victoria Island their top diamond site or are they drilling in other areas in the NWT. Thanks.

I don't understand the discount rate that you're supposed to use when figuring NPV, but when considering that and the future p/e ratio, isn't it true that the price of high quality diamonds may inflate faster than the discount rate that will take value away?

ROYCE GROUP DIAMOND PROJECT, NWT UPDATE

GMD Resource Corp. (the "Company") reports that the technical review
of the recently completed airborne magnetic/electromagnetic survey has
identified 72 geophysical targets on the Company's Royce Group Diamond
Claims in the Northwest Territories ("NWT"). A follow-up detailed sampling
program for kimberlite indicators has now been completed with 94 samples
collected to further test the prospectivity of 14 of the top ranked 21
anomalies and confirm present indicator mineral anomalies developed from
sampling during the 1995, 1996 and 1997 field seasons. An average of six till
samples was carefully selected and collected down-ice from these priority
geophysical signatures. All samples have been shipped to and received by
Kennecott Canada's Thunder Bay laboratory for processing. The
concentration of heavy minerals from the samples is expected to be
completed within the next three weeks. It is estimated that the picking
process will take an additional three weeks from their receipt. Positive results
from this sampling will further the prioritization of select targets for ground
geophysical follow-up and eventual drilling.

Hello George

Interesting announcement here:

Euro-Nevada announcement/Ashton-Tasmania
Reuters Story - October 22, 1998 11:28

(Full text of press release from Canada NewsWire)
Ashton Mining to explore for diamonds on Euro-Nevada lands in
Tasmania
TORONTO, Oct. 22 /CNW/ - Euro-Nevada Mining Corporation's
wholly-owned subsidiary, Pacific-Nevada Mining Pty Ltd., has
signed a letter of agreement with Ashton Mining Ltd. for the
exploration of diamonds over the approximately 1 million acres
in north western Tasmania owned by Pacific-Nevada. The
exploration program is believed to be the first of its kind in
Tasmania since the discovery of diamonds in river beds during
the 1880's alluvial gold rush.
Ashton, as Manager, will have the right to earn a 51%
interest in the diamonds contained in the project area after
funding has reached the point where 1,000 carats from a single
kimberlite pipe on the property can be demonstrated. In the
event Pacific-Nevada's participating interest dilutes to less
than 30%, its interest shall then automatically be converted to
a carried 5% gross value royalty. Ashton has a four month
option period commencing October 1st, 1998 during which it can
assess the diamond potential and feasibility of the project.
Pacific-Nevada has identified an alignment of discreet
magnetic and coincident electro-magnetic anomalies paralleling
a major regional fault from a high resolution airborne
geophysical survey it conducted over a small portion of the
prospective lands. Pacific-Nevada will continue with its
active A$1.2 million gold exploration program in this region.
