Kemble: I thought you might enjoy this. I have adapted it from a recent post that I saw on the Yahoo DELL thread.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

M. DELL said what scares him is that some investors don't know the business.

DELL's model----almost no inventory----direct sales

DELL attracts component suppliers to build their warehouses around its plants. Whenever DELL needs something, just have them send them over. Because DELL sells so many computers, every supplier is more than happy to do almost whatever DELL asks for.

You will say, gee, that's cool, you make your money and someone pays the rent for you.

That's the snow ball effect. The more computers DELL sells, the cheaper components it gets.

The most effective way to do business makes DELL look like Michael Jordan -- fit, agile and mobile..... and, don't you think CPQ may be like a 300-pound lineman? <ggg>

Have Fun -- Invest In DELL
