I believe it was gold thread also mentioned that Russia was to purchase gold for the purpose of minting gold coins so their money could retain some value. Did anyone else catch that info?

You're absolutely right there are probably a lot of institutions out there locking in their prices by shorting K knowing that the directors have approved the merger or takeover.I think this is a strategic move for K more than anything else. The production from the area will definitely jump to 500,000 oz. per year while keeping costs relatively low.At the same time they have big upside on the exploration.I believe this will eventually become a very good move for K.I wouldn't be surprised if Greystar Resources is next on their agenda. The Angostura property will eventually be K's largest and lowest cost mine. It's the property that will take K over 2 million oz. of production a year. This is the reason I am buying on any weakness and accumulating a large position for the medium to longer term.Greystar has not been discoverd yet in the marketplace much to the delight of K's upper brass I suspect. It will be a lot harder not to notice them after the findings of the feasibility study are released in the next little while.
