The usual Buffett suspects are getting stale, because everybody knows the story - i.e. they're overpriced - yeah, still. My favorite closet Buffett play now is Dover (DOV). I won't say why I like this unless I get a thoughtful response from somebody who really takes a good look at it. But you want to start with the concept of high ROE, then ask where it comes from. It won't be obvious. The Chairman's letter in the annual report is essential reading. Wall Street research will only mislead you on this one. This is no small-cap - it is a $5 billion company - but it is still below Wall Street's radar screen.
