Or some of the 400s are K6-2+s.
Based on the same code as the 350, a 400 wouldn't be up to snuff with a Pentium II-400. Supposedly, the 400 has been changed to run more favorably with the PII-400.

Scumbria,

AMD isn't jepordizing a speed bump. They are ensuring a smooth launch of the K6-3.

Look here's how it works. AMD is making K6-3 on the line right now. Ones with bad caches.. well you know.. they are sold as K6-2 400's. The good ones are binned for later consumption.

The telling tale will be the next earnings report. If the K6-3 hasn't been released yet, look for a big jump in inventories (but don't worry about it).

BTW: What happened to the other Scumbria?.. the one that was pro everything but Intel?

Steve

Scumbria , there are many individuals who post on S.I. who purport to be of the highest technical knowledge and understanding .
In observing many of these posts , one thing comes through loud and clear that the majority exhibit a level of immaturity which belies their claims . Two examples come to mind Yousef ( who acts like a juvenile delinquent) and Paul Engel (no comment).
Dirk Meyer has a proven record by reason of the product that he helped develop , what are your credentials ?
