Toy,

re: Initially NDS will be providing a single point of administration for Unix user
security systems.

What does that mean, what is a "Unix user security systems"?

Do you have any links you can provide where I can read about NDS on UNIX. I've searched Novells site, Sun and HP's and Sun has one article over a year old saying Novell and Sun will cooperate on Java/NDS ties - but that's about all they say.

Longer term objectives would be to head toward a single login. This is not as easy
a task since many legacy applications need to be upgraded in order to allow a
single login and authentication from a Directory Service like NDS (i.e. Telnet,
3270, etc.).

As for UNIX, authentication is provided by a single service easily replaced or augmented and nothing to do with telnet, and 3270 is a display device last I checked.

Thanks, Eric
