Just read a very plausible theory as to what really prompted Greenspan to step forward with another rate cut. I too have a suspicion the the US banks are in a more precarious position than we are being led to believe, and the Fed is trying to head off what could become a panic given another large banks exposure in another funds problems.

Yahoo thinks the consensus estimate for earnings this quarter is -$0.57 per share.

I can't remember or can find the article that I read last week about the whisper #'s being -$0.52 per share and that AMZN would be able to meet them. I thought that I read somewhere that they would announce earnings not this Mon. but next Mon?

Best of Luck,

Earnings this Friday at 5pm?

I've heard Oct 28 at 5pm, now Barrons says 23rd.

AMZN has always made the day of the number release a guess. They would hate to tip of their competitors???? The heck with their investors.
