Mr K, no I don't think protestors toned down the level of military response. They increased the need to satisfy questions of effectivness. There were many public relations efforts to prove to the American public that victories were occuring on a regular basis and that democracy for the Vietnamese and our pulling out was just around the corner. The opposite was happening, we were sending more troops into harms way, all the while restricting their ability to wage a winning war.

Since when is it your business or mine to know if Bork, Starr, or Newt Gingrich rents pornographic movies? Its none of my business.

In New England there's a saying that's relevant to the most basic values of being a true American.

"Good neighbors make good fenses and good fenses make good neighbors."

Have a great day.

Jim
