steve, This is probably what your "may have been taken care of" link was to lead to. Couldn't get the link to work. I think it was dated June 30. Didn't notice a time period for the bids. Who knows, maybe we're knocking this one down as we cyberspeak! Thanks for all your great work for the thread.

To all, Old but new to me. Should have bought IDX to begin with. ocjs.state.oh.us
Project 39 - LiveScan

Ariss asked if there was going to be any funding to interface DBI with Identix because he wants to be able to submit his
LiveScan data electronically and not have to potentially do double entry since he has a DBI LiveScan. Potter explained that
BCI & I is supposed to be purchasing a method of conversion. He added that, through LEADS, it is possible to transfer the
data into Miami Valley and then they will submit the data to BCI & I. Bathe concurred that this is how Clermont County is
sending data. Bell noted that Montgomery and Hamilton counties are submitting with T1 lines. Ariss stated that he was out of
the loop of those two counties since he is from Warren County. He has been told that, since they already have a DBI machine,
they are low priority even though they contribute high volume. Potter added that he thought it had already been worked out, but
the delay is at the state level getting equipment. Ariss noted that it would save the state money to just let DBI convert data
rather than putting in new machines. He added that they are currently sending data to Miami Valley so this may take care of the
problem.

NOTE: After checking with BCI & I, the plan is still to install a server for DBI's data that will accept NIST compliant DBI
LiveScan data.
