Marty,

<<Was MKE in the picture previously when RDRT was suppling heads to QNTM in the recent past?>>

Mitsubishi Kotobuki Electronics has been a manufacturing partner for Quantum since 1984. However, in January, 96 the relationship was upgraded to include all disk drive products. I don't know what current estimates are but at one time MKE manufactured as much as 80% of product designed and sld by Quantum. Then in Spring of 97 Quantum announced that they were entering a JV with MKE to which Quantum turned over the assets and liabilities of their head operations in Louisville,CO, Shrewsbury, MA, and Batam, Indonesia. At that time I assume an infusion of cash occurred in the beleagured maker of MR and TFI heads.

You won't find any web links to MKE I suspect. They are a very low profile manufacturer of not only QNTM products but also CD Roms, LS-120 hi density floppy disk drives, and sound cards among others.

Best,
Stitch
