Rashid - I am not Gary- but I do know him (gg)
here are some ideas:
1. You can limit you decimal output as follows:
close(0):8:3- will give you 8 characters with 3 decimals- or something like that.
2. in your scan I believe there is not supposed to be a semicolon after the word : then.
3. I think it doesn't matter which you list first in a scan input or output- but you better have the input file in existence!!!
4. I do not know the limit to scans in a profile- but you cannot have a scan whose output is another's input in the same profile. Also scans against the whole db seem to run simultanouesly- but scans with input files- run sequentially( one after the other)

You need a then, Rashid, [not then; BTW].
// comments out everything to the end of the line.
---------------------------------------------
If Open(0) <= Low(0) + (range(0)*.25) and
Close(0) <= Low(0) + (range(0)*.25) and
high(0)>Max(-1,-9,hi) //H > Ref(HHV(H,9),-1) then;
println ...
------------------
You put the // after the then in the subsequent scan which worked.
